Well, I've told my story to pretty much any willing ear today, but I suppose I'll splash out a few thoughts here into my blog.
Today I drove around. A lot. First I dressed all spiffy and cruised on over to Intrex Computers where I took a 40 question nerd quiz to see just how much I know about computers. This thing would definitely filter out any computer-illiterate bozo applying for a job. I'd say out of the fourty questions I only had to guess on five, and even those were very educated guesses. I feel confident! I'll know if they are taking my application more seriously or if i'm hired within a week they say. Hee haw!
Next I went over to Bond Park at 3 to meet up with a fellow by the name of Neil, and I think I've actually found the perfect eagle project! There's a 25' trail leading from a parking lot to a road and on the other side of the road is the playground. Lots of little kids cross this trail to get to the playground with their parents. Therein lies the problem; the trail is eroding away! the 10 or so timbers there are old and water is just sloshing over them, and at the bottom right at the road the steps are flooded by the drainage on the side of the road. I'd like to build a little 6' footbridge leading from the road to the trail, and then put in new timbers, remulch the trail, make sure the water path is down the side, and take out one or two tiny trees. Good stuff, indeed! I'm going to go back this week with my dad to come up with a preliminary drawing and stuff, then I can start working with Mr. Stallings. Speaking of my father...
He went to Wake Med today. He's okay, he just started feeling dizzy and had a high pulse rate so his coworkers took him in as a precaution, and I'm glad. Most importantly, his heart is okay which is what I was worried about the most. He didn't spend much time in the heat today getting exhausted, and there's no peaks of stress or anything in his life... they're running blood tests to see what it could be. They think it's a tick bite perhaps? Anyways, mom is (apparently) spending the night at the hospital with him (it's 12:23 if she isn't here now I doubt she will be) so I am here holding down the fort and making sure alex goes to bed and wakes up at 5:30 for school. OH, and i helped break up a fight between Tommy and Alex. Tommy had his pants down to his ankles and a light up jester hat on along with a foam #1 finger on his hand, and Alex donned a yarmulka and Pink Panther hand puppet. Both of them were "dancing" to Tips, by the way. All of this while subjecting Megan over the phone to the breaking up of chaos that ensued. Oh how fun my house is!
Ryan T got back from New York today, so I'm going over to party hard at his house tomorrow once we get the car situation fixed up. Oh yes, the car situation. It looks like my parents want to donate the van somewhere to get a tax write off, then spend a few grand fixing up the pontiac and letting me drive that. I have almost no complaints to that! It's fine if it's just me driving it around. Most of my friends can't ride in a car without airbags or 3 point seatbelts though (including Megan) so I'll have to use the Escape sometimes or find a way to fund another car. The other thing about the pontiac is that it sucks gas, and premium gas at that. I'm not doing much heavy driving so it shouldn't be too bad of a problem, but it'll be noticable if i'm driving it everyday. So that might mean riding the bus to school. That's really okay with me though since I'm a cheapass penny pincher and would probably end up riding the bus anyways to save on gas money and a $120 parking pass or risking parking at Barnes and Noble.
My isn't this a lengthy blog update! I'll end it with a wonderous conversation about Suspenders with Alisha:
mr mOo237: <3 little kids
mr mOo237: even if they do whine a lot
animofractus01: i know, me too
mr mOo237: you know what else i <3?
animofractus01: she was precious, her name was katie, the cutest little personality you'll ever see
mr mOo237: this is random, brace yourself.
animofractus01: you <3 megan!
mr mOo237: well yes

animofractus01: do tell!
mr mOo237: i walk with more confidence, and I feel more like a man's man if you know what i mean
mr mOo237: i like to put my thumbs under them and rock back and forth in thought or satisfaction
mr mOo237: they are quite possibly the most versatile piece of men's clothing accessory
mr mOo237: wow that was the most ridiculous rant ever
mr mOo237: i'm sorry for putting you through it
animofractus01: no dude
animofractus01: that was awesome
animofractus01: thank you
animofractus01: i appreciate it
animofractus01: there is hope for the world!
mr mOo237: hahaha
